The Hasso Plattner d-school Afrika* at UCT is the home of design thinking on the continent — a first for Africa and its people. Much like the d.school at Stanford University and the HPI d–school at the University of Potsdam, the d-school Afrika* offers training and capacitation in design-led innovation, with the aim of spreading design thinking across the continent and growing a generation of creative problem-solvers.
Fast Forward is a one-day programme designed to give UCT and other Higher Education Institution staff and faculty the opportunity to sharpen their critical thinking while working in diverse, multidisciplinary teams on real-world problems. It's a fast, practical introduction that builds confidence in dealing with uncertainty and ambiguity, and a human-centred approach to solving problems — ideal for anyone curious about design thinking before committing to one of our longer programmes.
